Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how a warrior’s radiance is amplified by loyal support and collective formation; yet it also implicitly reminds the listener that outward splendor in war does not settle the deeper ethical burden of the conflict—glory and righteousness are not automatically identical.

Sañjaya describes Karṇa on the battlefield, encircled by Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons. Karṇa appears magnificent, compared to Skanda surrounded by the gods during the mythic battle against Tāraka.
