Engagement and Countermeasures
viyad dyāṃ pṛthivīṃ caiva tathā viṣṇupadaṃ vrajan | vismitaḥ saha kṛṣṇena kṣipto bāṇa ivābhyagāt ||
Sañjaya said: Beholding all at once the mid-air, the heavens, and the earth, Arjuna—filled with wonder—set forth with Kṛṣṇa toward Viṣṇu’s supreme realm. He surged ahead like an arrow released from a bow, borne onward with irresistible speed.
The verse highlights how divine companionship and higher purpose can propel a warrior beyond ordinary limits: Arjuna’s awe does not paralyze him; guided by Kṛṣṇa, it becomes focused momentum toward a transcendent goal (Viṣṇupada).
Sañjaya describes Arjuna traveling with Kṛṣṇa through the cosmic regions—earth, sky, and the mid-space—moving swiftly toward Viṣṇu’s highest realm, compared to an arrow shot from a bow.
