Droṇasya raudra-prayogaḥ
Droṇa’s intensified assault and the Pāṇḍava response
अभ्यघ्नन् निशितै: शस्त्रैर्जयगृद्धा: प्रहारिण: । क्रोधमें भरे हुए पाण्डव तथा कौरव विजयकी अभिलाषा लेकर एक-दूसरेको तीखे अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंद्वारा मारने लगे। वे सभी योद्धा प्रहार करनेमें कुशल थे || ४२ ई ।। स पाण्डवानां महतीं महेष्वासो महाद्युति:
abhyaghnan niśitaiḥ śastrair jayagṛddhāḥ prahāriṇaḥ | krodhena bhare huye pāṇḍav tathā kaurav vijayakī abhilāṣā lekar eka-dūsre ko tīkhe astra-śastroṃ dvārā mārne lage | te sarve yoddhā prahāra karne meṃ kuśal the ||
Sañjaya said: Driven by a hunger for victory, the Pāṇḍavas and the Kauravas—fighters skilled in striking—fell upon one another with keen weapons. Filled with wrath and intent on triumph, they began to slay each other with sharp missiles and arms, as the battle’s violence intensified.
