Sañjaya said: The Pāṇḍavas, locked in fierce mutual hostility, engaged together with the Kauravas—each side inflamed with resolve, as the battle’s moral strain and duty-bound violence tightened its grip.

The line highlights how, in war, reciprocal anger (anyonyaṃ susaṃrabdhāḥ) escalates conflict: both sides become mutually inflamed. Ethically, it points to the Mahābhārata’s recurring tension—dharma may compel action, yet uncontrolled rage can cloud discernment and deepen collective suffering.
Sañjaya reports that the Pāṇḍavas and Kauravas are confronting one another directly, fighting together in close engagement, with heightened fury and intensity as the battle in Droṇa Parva continues.
