Educational Q&A

In a crisis, leadership combines clear strategic direction with solidarity: the leader asks the foremost warrior to open a safe passage, while committing that the group will follow together—emphasizing coordinated action, trust, and shared responsibility in fulfilling duty.

On the battlefield, Yudhiṣṭhira urges a leading warrior to pierce the enemy’s formation and make a ‘gate’ or opening. He promises that the Pandava side will follow the same route, indicating an urgent maneuver to penetrate or escape a tightly arranged battle-array.
