Śrī Nārāyaṇa said: O most excellent Primeval God, from you are born the Prajāpatis, the makers of beings. They are the guardians of this world; entering into this earth, they protected long ago your ancient, divine creation.
श्रीनारायण उवाच
All creative and protective powers in the cosmos—especially the Prajāpatis who generate beings and safeguard the world—ultimately arise from the Supreme (Ādi-deva). Therefore, protecting creation is presented as a sacred, divinely grounded responsibility aligned with dharma.
Śrī Nārāyaṇa addresses the Primeval God, praising him as the source of the Prajāpatis and as the foundation of worldly protection. The statement situates worldly guardianship (including the earth’s preservation) within a larger theological frame of divine origin and oversight.
