भ्राजमानं श्रिया युक्त ज्वलन्तमिव तेजसा
bhrājamānaṁ śriyā yuktaṁ jvalantam iva tejasā
Sañjaya said: “He appeared resplendent—endowed with fortune and royal splendor—blazing, as it were, with innate radiance.”

The verse highlights the classical epic ideal that inner excellence and rightful power manifest outwardly as tejas (radiant energy) and śrī (auspicious splendor). In the Mahābhārata’s ethical frame, such radiance is not mere appearance: it signals capacity, authority, and the moral weight of the moment in war.
Sañjaya, narrating events to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, describes a prominent figure on the battlefield as visibly radiant—prosperous and majestic, seeming to blaze with brilliance—setting the tone for an imminent action or encounter in the Drona Parva.
