Shloka 14

विव्यधु: सोमकास्तूर्ण समन्ताच्छरवृष्टिभि: । समरांगणमें द्रोणाचार्यको पाण्डव-सेनाका संहार करते देख सोमकोंने चारों ओरसे बाणोंकी वर्षा करके उन्हें तुरंत घायल कर दिया ।। १३ ह ।। तत्र द्रोणो5हरत्‌ प्राणान्‌ क्षत्रियाणां विशाम्पते

vivyadhuḥ somakās tūrṇaṃ samantāc charavṛṣṭibhiḥ | tatra droṇo 'harat prāṇān kṣatriyāṇāṃ viśāmpate ||

Sañjaya said: The Somakas quickly struck from all sides with showers of arrows. There, Droṇa was taking the lives of the kṣatriyas, O lord of the people—an image of war’s grim momentum, where prowess and duty on the battlefield turn into relentless slaughter.
