Educational Q&A

Even when one is capable in pursuing dharma, artha, and kāma, one should repeatedly choose actions where dharma is primary, ensuring that the pursuit of desire or advantage does not injure righteousness or sound welfare.

Sanjaya reports a piece of counsel being given: the listener is urged, in the midst of pressing circumstances, to act with restraint and to prioritize dharma-led decisions rather than letting expediency or desire override moral and political stability.
