Sañjaya said: “Let my horses be yoked again to the chariot—those of excellent marks, who have already been rested, walked about, and given water.”

Even in warfare, duty includes humane, disciplined stewardship: ensuring the horses are rested and watered before being driven again. The verse highlights responsibility toward those who serve one’s purpose, not treating them as mere instruments.
A command is being given to re-harness the chariot horses after they have been rested, exercised, and watered, indicating preparation to resume movement or combat operations.
