भीमकर्णसमागमः | Bhīma–Karṇa Encounter
जनस्य संनिनादं तु श्र॒त्वा दुर्योधनो<ब्रवीत् । व्येतु वो भीरहं कृष्णा प्रेषयिष्यामि मृत्यवे,लोगोंका वह आर्तनाद सुनकर दुर्योधन बोला--“तुमलोगोंका भय दूर हो जाना चाहिये। मैं इन दोनों कृष्णोंको मृत्युके घर भेज दूँगा”
janasya saṁninādaṁ tu śrutvā duryodhano ’bravīt | vyetu vo bhīr ahaṁ kṛṣṇau preṣayiṣyāmi mṛtyave ||
Sañjaya said: Hearing the people’s tumultuous outcry, Duryodhana spoke: “Let your fear be dispelled. I shall send those two Krishnas to the house of Death.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how leaders use speech to manage collective fear in crisis, but it also cautions that bravado can slide into adharma when killing is spoken of as a triumph rather than a solemn duty. Ethical discernment in war requires restraint, humility, and awareness of consequences.
Amid the battle’s uproar, Duryodhana hears the distressed clamor of his side and addresses them to restore confidence. He declares that he will ‘send the two Krishnas to Death,’ i.e., he threatens to kill two prominent opponents known as Kṛṣṇa.
