Uttanka’s Guru-Śuśrūṣā and the Commission to Retrieve the Maṇikuṇḍalas
yadi tv anugrahaṁ kañcit tvatto ’ham i janārdana | draṣṭum icchāmi te rūpam aiśvaraṁ tan nidarśaya janārdana ||
“If I am worthy of receiving any favor from you, O Janārdana, then I wish to behold your sovereign, divine form. Please reveal that form to me, O Janārdana.”
The verse frames divine revelation as a matter of grace (anugraha) rather than entitlement: the seeker approaches with humility and a focused desire for direct spiritual insight (darśana) of the Lord’s aiśvarya (sovereign divinity).
Uttanka addresses Kṛṣṇa as Janārdana and petitions him for a boon: to be shown Kṛṣṇa’s aiśvara (divine, lordly) form, expressing an intense wish to witness it directly.
