धृतराष्ट्राश्रमगमनम् — The Pandavas’ Procession to Dhritarashtra’s Hermitage
ततो गड्जां समासाद्य क्रमेण स जनार्णव: । निवासमकरोत् सर्वो यथाप्रीति यथासुखम्,क्रमश: वह सारा जनसमुद्र गड़ातटपर जा पहुँचा और सब लोग अपनी-अपनी रुचि तथा सुख-सुविधाके अनुसार जहाँ-तहाँ ठहर गये
tato gaṅgāṃ samāsādya krameṇa sa janārṇavaḥ | nivāsam akarot sarvo yathāprīti yathāsukham ||
Then, in due course, that vast multitude—like an ocean of people—reached the river Gaṅgā. Thereupon everyone made camp, settling in places according to individual preference and comfort, in an orderly manner.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even amid large movements of people, dharma expresses itself as orderliness and consideration: the host settles without chaos, each finding a place suited to need and inclination, reflecting disciplined communal conduct.
The large retinue proceeds step by step and arrives at the Gaṅgā; upon reaching the riverbank, everyone establishes lodging/camps, dispersing to suitable spots according to preference and comfort.
