Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्

एका तिष्ठसि का च त्वं कस्यार्थे कि प्रयोजनम्‌ । पद्मिनीतीरमाश्रित्य ब्रूहि त्वं किं चिकीर्षसि,“अरी! तू कौन है और किसलिये यहाँ अकेली खड़ी है? यहाँ तेरे आनेका क्या प्रयोजन है? इस सरोवरके तटपर रहकर तू कौन-सा कार्य सिद्ध करना चाहती है?”

ekā tiṣṭhasi kā ca tvaṃ kasyārthe ki prayojanam | padminītīram āśritya brūhi tvaṃ kiṃ cikīrṣasi ||

Bhīṣma said: “Who are you, standing here all alone, and for whose sake are you here? What purpose has brought you to this place? Having taken refuge on the bank of this lotus-filled lake, tell me—what is it that you intend to accomplish?”
