Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्

भरद्वाज उवाच नृशंसस्त्यक्तधर्मस्तु स्त्रीषु ज्ञातिषु गोषु च । ब्राह्मणं चापि जयतां बिसस्तैन्यं करोति यः,भरद्वाज बोले--जिसने मृणाल चुराया हो उस निर्दयीको धर्मके परित्यागका दोष लगे। वह स्त्रियों, कुटुम्बीजनों तथा गौओंके साथ पापपूर्ण बर्ताव करनेका दोषी हो और ब्राह्मणको वाद-विवादमें पराजित करनेका पाप लगे

bharadvāja uvāca | nṛśaṃsas tyaktadharmas tu strīṣu jñātiṣu goṣu ca | brāhmaṇaṃ cāpi jayataṃ bisastainyaṃ karoti yaḥ ||

Bharadvāja said: “He who commits the theft of a lotus-stalk is to be regarded as cruel and as one who has abandoned dharma. He incurs the taint of sinful conduct toward women, toward his own kinsmen, and toward cows; and he also bears the sin of defeating a brāhmaṇa in disputation.”
