शिखी मुण्डी जटी ज्वाली मूर्तिजो मूर्द्धनो बली । वेणवी पणवी ताली खली कालकटंकट:,२२९ शिखी--शिखाधारी गृहस्थस्वरूप, २३० मुण्डी--शिखारहित संनन्‍्यासी, २३१ जटी--जटाधारी वानप्रस्थ, २३२ ज्वाली--अग्निकी प्रज्वलित ज्वालामें समिधाकी आहुति देनेवाले ब्रह्मचारी, २३३ मूर्तिज:--शरीर रूपसे प्रकट होनेवाले, २३४ मूर्द्धन:-- मूर्द्धा--सहस्रार चक्रमें ध्येय रूपसे विद्यमान, २३५ बली--बलिष्ठ, २३६ वेणवी--वंशी बजानेवाले श्रीकृष्ण, २३७ पणवी--पणव नामक वाद्य बजानेवाले, २३८ ताली--ताल देनेवाले, २३९ खली--खलिहानके स्वामी, २४० काल-कटंकट:--यमराजके मायाको आवृत करनेवाले

Transliteration

śikhī muṇḍī jaṭī jvālī mūrtijo mūrdhano balī | veṇavī paṇavī tālī khalī kāla-kaṭaṅkaṭaḥ ||

Translation

Vāyu-deva said: “He is the one who bears a topknot, who is shaven-headed, who wears matted locks, and who blazes with sacred fire; he manifests in embodied form and is to be contemplated at the crown (the highest spiritual center); he is mighty. He is the flute-player, the drummer, and the keeper of rhythm; he is the lord of the threshing-floor, and the one who veils even the power of Death (Yama).”
