असूयतश्च शक्रस्य वज्ेण प्रहरिष्यत: । स वज्ं स्तम्भयामास त॑ बाहुं परिघोपमम्,उस समय इन्द्रको बड़ी ईर्ष्या हुई। वे वज़से उस बालकपर प्रहार करना ही चाहते थे कि उसने परिघके समान मोटी उनकी उस बाँहको वज्रसहित स्तम्भित कर दिया
asūyataś ca śakrasya vajreṇa prahariṣyataḥ | sa vajraṃ stambhayāmāsa taṃ bāhuṃ parighopamam ||
Vāyu said: When Śakra (Indra), seized by jealousy, was about to strike with his thunderbolt, the boy immobilized that very thunderbolt-bearing arm of his—thick and formidable like an iron club.
वायुदेव उवाच
Even powerful beings can be driven by asūyā (jealousy), which leads toward unjust violence; higher strength is shown in the ability to restrain harm and neutralize aggression without escalating it.
Indra, jealous, prepares to strike a boy with the vajra, but the boy miraculously immobilizes Indra’s thunderbolt-bearing arm—described as thick like a parigha—preventing the blow.
