पूषणं चाभिदुद्राव पादेन च रुषान्वित: । पुरोडाशं भक्षयतो दशनान् वै व्यशातयत्,फिर उन्होंने रोषमें भरकर पैदल ही पूषादेवताका पीछा किया और पुरोडाश भक्षण करनेवाले उनके दाँतोंको तोड़ डाला
pūṣāṇaṃ cābhidudrāva pādena ca ruṣānvitaḥ | puroḍāśaṃ bhakṣayato daśanān vai vyaśātayat ||
Then, filled with rage, he ran after the deity Pūṣan on foot. As Pūṣan was eating the sacrificial puroḍāśa, Rudra shattered his teeth.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical danger of krodha (anger): when rage governs action, it produces disproportionate harm and disturbs sacred order (yajña). Even in divine narratives, violence born of wrath is shown as a cause of disorder and suffering.
Vāyu narrates that an enraged figure charged after the deity Pūṣan and, while Pūṣan was consuming the sacrificial puroḍāśa, smashed his teeth—an act reflecting the turmoil and violence surrounding a disrupted sacrifice.
