तेन दीप्तांशुजालेन निर्दग्धा दानवास्तदा । अन्तरिक्षान्महाराज निपेतुस्ते सहस्रशः,“महाराज! उनकी प्रज्वलित किरणोंके स्पर्शसे उस समय सहस्रों दानव दग्ध होकर आकाशसे पृथ्वीपर गिरने लगे
tena dīptāṁśujālena nirdagdhā dānavās tadā | antarīkṣān mahārāja nipetus te sahasraśaḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: “O great king, scorched by the touch of that blazing net of rays, the Dānavas were burned up, and by the thousands they fell from the sky to the earth.”
