अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)

यानि च प्रथितान्यादौ तण्डिराख्यातवान्‌ मम । नामानि मानवश्रेष्ठ तानि त्वं शृणु सिद्धये,मानवश्रेष्ठ! तण्डिमुनिने जिन आदिकालके प्रसिद्ध नामोंका मेरे सामने वर्णन किया, उन्हें आप भी सुनिये। वे सिद्धि प्रदान करनेवाले हैं

yāni ca prathitāny ādau taṇḍir ākhyātavān mama | nāmāni mānavaśreṣṭha tāni tvaṃ śṛṇu siddhaye ||

Vāyu said: “O best of men, listen for your attainment to those names renowned from the beginning—names that the sage Taṇḍi once recounted to me. Hearing them is said to confer spiritual success.”
