O Lord of the Yādavas, when the Blessed Lord disappeared from sight together with his attendants, the sage came to my hermitage and here related all these matters to me. The passage underscores the faithful transmission of sacred events: when the divine becomes unseen, the responsibility of preserving and conveying truth rests with trustworthy seers and disciplined hearing.
वायुदेव उवाच
When direct divine presence is no longer visible, dharma is preserved through reliable testimony: sages who have seen or learned the truth transmit it carefully, and listeners receive it with discipline. The verse highlights the ethical importance of faithful narration and lineage-based transmission.
Vāyudeva addresses Kṛṣṇa as Yādaveśvara and recounts that after the Lord vanished from sight along with His attendants, a sage came to Vāyudeva’s hermitage and reported all the relevant events to him.
