अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)

उपमन्युरुवाच एवं स्तुतो महादेवस्तण्डिना ब्रह्म॒वादिना । उवाच भगवान्‌ देव उमया सहित: प्रभु:,उपमन्यु कहते हैं--ब्रह्मगादी तण्डिके इस प्रकार स्तुति करनेपर पार्वतीसहित प्रभावशाली भगवान्‌ महादेव उनसे बोले--

Upamanyur uvāca: evaṁ stuto Mahādevas Taṇḍinā brahmavādinā | uvāca bhagavān deva Umayā sahitaḥ prabhuḥ ||

Upamanyu said: Thus praised by Taṇḍi, the Brahmanical speaker, the mighty Lord Mahādeva—accompanied by Umā—addressed him.
