The five destinies described in the Vedas, the śāstras, and the Purāṇas are remembered as authoritative. Yet they are attained only through your grace, O all-pervading Lord; they are not attained otherwise.
Even though the Vedas, śāstras, and Purāṇas describe recognized spiritual destinies (gatis), their attainment ultimately depends on the Lord’s grace; human learning or effort without divine favor is insufficient.
Vāyudeva addresses the Lord directly, affirming the authority of scriptural teachings about five gatis while emphasizing that these outcomes are granted through the Lord’s prasāda (grace), not achieved independently.
