Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)
इति श्रीमहाभारते अनुशासनपर्वणि दानधर्मपर्वणि महापुरुषप्रस्तावे अष्टचत्वारिंशदाधिकशततमो< ध्याय:,इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत अनुशासनपर्वके अन्तर्गत दानधर्मपर्वमें महापुरुष श्रीकृष्णकी प्रशंशाविषयक एक सौ अड़तालीसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti śrīmahābhārate anuśāsanaparvaṇi dānadharmaparvaṇi mahāpuruṣa-prastāve aṣṭacatvāriṃśad-adhika-śatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ | (iti) — “Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, in the Anuśāsana-parvan, within the Dāna-dharma-parvan, in the section introducing the Mahāpuruṣa, the one-hundred-and-forty-eighth adhyāya is concluded.”
Vaiśampāyana said: “Thus ends the one-hundred-and-forty-eighth chapter of the Anuśāsana Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the sub-section on the dharma of giving (dāna), in the context of introducing and praising the Supreme Person (Mahāpuruṣa), Śrī Kṛṣṇa.”
