पतिर्ि देवो नारीणां पतिर्बन्धु: पतिर्गति: । पत्या समा गतिर्नास्ति दैवतं वा यथा पति:,पति ही नारियोंका देवता, पति ही बन्धु-बान्धव और पति ही उनकी गति है। नारीके लिये पतिके समान न दूसरा कोई सहारा है और न दूसरा कोई देवता

Transliteration

patir hi devo nārīṇāṁ patir bandhuḥ patir gatiḥ | patyā samā gatir nāsti daivataṁ vā yathā patiḥ ||

Translation

Mahādeva said: “For women, the husband is their very deity; the husband is their kinsman and protector; the husband is their refuge and final recourse. There is no other support equal to the husband, nor any divinity comparable to him.”
