Maheshvara said: “O God, some people appear dull-witted, lacking both true knowledge and realized discernment. In such a condition, by what particular kind of action can a person become wise, O Lord?”
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
The verse frames an ethical-spiritual problem: many lack both theoretical knowledge (jñāna) and lived discernment (vijñāna). It asks what specific disciplined action (karma-viśeṣa) can transform such a person into one endowed with wisdom (prajñā).
Śrīmaheśvara addresses a divine interlocutor, observing that some humans are ignorant and confused, and he inquires about the concrete practice or type of action by which they can attain wisdom.
