मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity

saṅkhyām atiguṇāṁ cāpi teṣu lokeṣu modate |

Bhishma says that such a person rejoices in those heavenly worlds in a measure far exceeding ordinary reckoning. Having all desires fulfilled, he is honored and worshipped by celestial maidens, and he attains the same merit as that gained from a sacrifice in which abundant gold is given as priestly fees (dakṣiṇā). For countless years he enjoys happiness in those realms—an ethical affirmation that generous, dharmic giving yields enduring, exalted results.

Educational Q&A

Dharmic generosity and meritorious conduct yield amplified results: one gains extraordinary joy in higher realms, comparable to the fruit of grand sacrifices with lavish gold-dakṣiṇā.

Bhishma continues instructing on the rewards of virtue: he describes the recipient of such merit as enjoying heavenly worlds, being honored by celestial maidens, and obtaining the sacrificial fruit associated with abundant gold gifts.
