ज्येष्ठ-कनिष्ठ-धर्मः — Duties of Elders and Juniors

दारुणेषु च सर्वेषु प्रत्यरें च विवर्जयेत् । ज्योतिषे यानि चोक्तानि तानि सर्वाणि वर्जयेत्,(आश्लेषा, आर्द्रा, ज्येष्ठा और मूल आदि) सम्पूर्ण दारुण नक्षत्रों और प्रत्यरिताराका- भी परित्याग कर देना चाहिये। सारांश यह है कि ज्योतिष-शास्त्रके भीतर जिन-जिन नक्षत्रोंमें श्राद्धछक्ता निषिध किया गया है, उन सबमें देवकार्य और पितृकार्य नहीं करना चाहिये
Bhīṣma uvāca: dāruṇeṣu ca sarveṣu pratyareṃ ca vivarjayet | jyotiṣe yāni cok tāni tāni sarvāṇi varjayet ||
Bhishma said: “One should avoid all inauspicious (harsh) lunar mansions, and also the so-called pratyari (hostile) stars. In short, whatever constellations are declared in the astrological tradition as unsuitable, those should all be avoided for sacred rites—neither divine offerings nor ancestral rites should be performed under them.”
