Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

प्रसाधनं च केशानामज्जनं दन्तधावनम् | पूर्वाह्न एव कार्याणि देवतानां च पूजनम्,केशोंको सँवारना, आँखोंमें अंजन लगाना, दाँत-मुँह धोना और देवताओंकी पूजा करना--ये सब कार्य दिनके पहले प्रहरमें ही करने चाहिये
Transliteration
prasādhanaṃ ca keśānām ajjanaṃ dantadhāvanam | pūrvāhna eva kāryāṇi devatānāṃ ca pūjanam ||
Translation
Bhīṣma teaches that personal grooming—arranging one’s hair, applying collyrium to the eyes, and cleaning the teeth and mouth—along with worship of the deities, should be performed in the forenoon itself.
