Vaiśampāyana said: From him was born Manasyu, the mighty son of Śūrasenī. Lotus-eyed, Manasyu became the protector and ruler of the entire earth bounded by the four quarters (i.e., extending to the oceans), upholding sovereign order over the whole realm.

The verse highlights the dharmic ideal of kingship: a ruler is foremost a goptā—one who protects and sustains order over the whole realm, not merely one who possesses power.
Vaiśampāyana continues a genealogical account, stating that Manasyu was born in the lineage, describing him as powerful, lotus-eyed, and as a protector-ruler of the earth extending to the four ends.
