अध्याय ९५: चित्राङ्गदस्य गन्धर्वेण सह संग्रामः तथा विचित्रवीर्यस्य राज्याभिषेकः

Chitrāṅgada’s duel with the Gandharva and Vicitravīrya’s consecration

मनस्युरभवत्‌ तस्माच्छूरसेनीसुत: प्रभु: । पृथिव्याश्षतुरन्ताया गोप्ता राजीवलोचन:,प्रवीरके पुत्रका नाम मनस्यु था, जो शूरसेनीके पुत्र और शक्तिशाली थे। कमलके समान नेत्रवाले मनस्युने चारों समुद्रोंसे घिरी हुई समस्त पृथ्वीका पालन किया

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

manasyur abhavat tasmāc chūrasenīsutaḥ prabhuḥ |

pṛthivyāś caturantāyā goptā rājīvalocanaḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana said: From him was born Manasyu, the mighty son of Śūrasenī. Lotus-eyed, Manasyu became the protector and ruler of the entire earth bounded by the four quarters (i.e., extending to the oceans), upholding sovereign order over the whole realm.
