वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even in a genealogical catalogue, the epic frames identity through virtues: strength joined with wisdom (balavān, dhīmān), truth-associated heroism (Satyeyu with aindra-vikrama), and dharma-orientation (Dharmeyu). The naming and epithets imply that worth in a lineage is measured by ethical and heroic qualities, not merely by descent.
Vaiśampāyana continues enumerating a set of individuals (a group of brothers/descendants in the surrounding passage), giving their names and brief characterizing epithets. This verse specifically highlights Tejeyu, Satyeyu, Dharmeyu, and the tenth, Sannateyu, describing their strength, intelligence, Indra-like prowess, and godlike valor.
