Ugraśravas (Sauti) said: Hearing this, Agni replied to the Grandsire Brahmā, “So be it.” Having thus assented, he departed to carry out the command of the god Parameṣṭhin (Brahmā).
शौनक उवाच
The verse underscores dharma as faithful performance of one’s assigned role: Agni assents (“evam astu”) and promptly proceeds to execute Brahmā’s injunction, modeling disciplined obedience to legitimate authority and responsibility.
In Sauti’s narration, Agni responds affirmatively to Brahmā (the Grandsire) and then departs to carry out Brahmā’s command, moving the episode forward by turning divine instruction into action.
