दक्षस्त्वजायताड्गुष्ठाद्‌ दक्षिणाद्‌ भगवानृषि: । ब्रह्मण: पृथिवीपाल शान्तात्मा सुमहातपा:,भूमिपाल! ब्रह्माजीके दाहिने अँगूठेसे महातपस्वी शान्तचित्त महर्षि भगवान्‌ दक्ष उत्पन्न हुए

Transliteration

dakṣas tv ajāyatāṅguṣṭhād dakṣiṇād bhagavān ṛṣiḥ | brahmaṇaḥ pṛthivīpāla śāntātmā sumahātapāḥ ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana said: “From Brahmā’s right thumb was born the venerable sage Dakṣa—serene in spirit and of exceedingly great austerity, O king.”
