As that lord of men looked on, the blessed seer—radiant like the Sun—rose upward to behold Bhāskara, the Sun-god.
गन्धर्व उवाच
The verse highlights the supremacy of spiritual radiance and ascetic attainment: a rishi, through tapas and divine stature, can move beyond ordinary limits, and a king is positioned as a witness to that higher authority—suggesting that righteous rule should honor and learn from such spiritual power.
In the king’s very sight, the sun-bright sage rises upward to meet or behold Bhāskara (the Sun-god), marking a moment of divine approach and demonstrating the extraordinary capacity of the rishi.
