वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights atithi-dharma: receiving a guest—especially a brāhmaṇa—with proper honor and providing shelter is a continual ethical vow, not an occasional courtesy.
A host, described as always devoted to serving guests, respectfully honors an arriving brāhmaṇa and then gives him a place to stay.
