Hiḍimba’s Approach and Hiḍimbā’s Warning to Bhīmasena (हिडिम्बागमनम् / हिडिम्बा-भयवचनम्)

अग्न्याधानेन यज्ञेन काषायेण जटाजिनै: । लोकान्‌ विश्वासयित्वैव ततो लुम्पेद्‌ यथा वृक:,“अग्निहोत्र और यज्ञ करके, गेरुए वस्त्र, जटा और मृगचर्म धारण करके पहले लोगोंमें विश्वास उत्पन्न करे; फिर अवसर देखकर भेड़ियेकी भाँति शत्रुओंपर टूट पड़े और उन्हें नष्ट कर दे

Vaiśampāyana said: “By establishing the sacred fire and performing sacrifices, by wearing ochre robes, matted locks, and animal skins, first win the trust of the people; then, when the moment is ripe, fall upon the enemies like a wolf—plunder and destroy them.”
