O sage, that intricate cluster of verses remains, even today, woven together with unyielding firmness. Its secret cannot be broken open, for the meaning is deeply hidden and the wording is also profound—resting on subtle modes of expression that conceal as much as they reveal.
The verse highlights that some sacred or epic passages are intentionally dense and ‘knotted’ in expression; their ethical and philosophical purport requires disciplined interpretation, not quick literal decoding.
A speaker addresses a sage, remarking that a certain set of verses remains extremely difficult to unravel even now, because both the meaning and the diction are deliberately profound and concealed.
