तस्मिन्‌ सदसि विस्तीर्णे मुनीनां भावितात्मनाम्‌ । उम्रश्रवाजी एक कुशल वक्ता थे। इस प्रकार प्रश्न किये जानेपर वे शुद्ध अन्तःकरणवाले मुनियोंकी उस विशाल सभामें ऋषियों तथा राजाओंसे सम्बन्ध रखनेवाली उत्तम एवं यथार्थ कथा कहने लगे,सर्वज्ञोडपि गणेशो यत्‌ क्षणमास्ते विचारयन्‌ | तावच्चकार व्यासो5पि श्लोकानन्यान्‌ बहूनपि स्वयं सर्वज्ञ गणेशजी भी उन श्लोकोंका विचार करते समय क्षणभरके लिये ठहर जाते थे। इतने समयमें व्यासजी भी और बहुत-से श्लोकोंकी रचना कर लेते थे
