The Universal Form (Virāṭ-Puruṣa): The Lord’s Entry into the Elements, the Devas, and the Origin of Varṇāśrama

Thereafter, the legs of the universal gigantic form manifested separately, and the demigod named Viṣṇu (not the Supreme Lord) entered them with a portion of the power of movement; thus the living being can proceed to its destination.
This verse explains that as the Universal Form’s feet manifest, Lord Viṣṇu enters them as the divine principle of movement, indicating that cosmic functions operate because the Supreme Person empowers them.
Because the feet represent movement and progression; the Bhagavatam teaches that even basic capacities like locomotion exist by Viṣṇu’s indwelling empowerment within the cosmic body.
It can be taken as a reminder to direct one’s actions and life-trajectory toward the highest aim—devotion and God-realization—rather than letting movement become merely restless activity.
