Uddhava’s Departure to Badarikāśrama and Vidura’s Turn Toward Maitreya
एवं त्रिलोकगुरुणा सन्दिष्ट: शब्दयोनिना । बदर्याश्रममासाद्य हरिमीजे समाधिना ॥ ३२ ॥
evaṁ tri-loka-guruṇā sandiṣṭaḥ śabda-yoninā badaryāśramam āsādya harim īje samādhinā
Thus instructed by the Supreme Personality of Godhead—the spiritual master of the three worlds and the source of Vedic sound—Uddhava reached Badarikāśrama and there, absorbed in samādhi, worshiped Hari to please Him.
Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa is factually the spiritual master of the three worlds, and He is the original source of all Vedic knowledge. It is very difficult, however, to understand the personal feature of the Absolute Truth, even from the Vedas. His personal instructions are needed in order to understand the Personality of Godhead as the Supreme Absolute Truth. Bhagavad-gītā is the evidence of such transcendental knowledge in gist. One cannot know the Supreme Lord unless one is graced by the Lord Himself. Lord Kṛṣṇa exhibited this specific mercy towards Arjuna and Uddhava while He was in the material world.
This verse states that after receiving instruction from Brahmā, one can worship Lord Hari by deep meditative absorption (samādhi), indicating focused devotional contemplation as a valid form of worship.
Brahmā is called “the source of sound” because the Vedic revelation and sacred knowledge are manifested through him at creation, making him an authority who instructs others in dharma and devotion.
Seek guidance from authentic scripture and teachers, then practice steady, distraction-free remembrance of Hari—through japa, meditation on the Lord’s names and form, and disciplined daily sādhanā.
