Secondary Creation Begins: Brahmā’s Productions, the Guṇas, and the Emergence of Orders of Beings
ऊर्जस्वन्तं मन्यमान आत्मानं भगवानज: । साध्यान् गणान् पितृगणान् परोक्षेणासृजत्प्रभु: ॥ ४२ ॥
ūrjasvantaṁ manyamāna ātmānaṁ bhagavān ajaḥ sādhyān gaṇān pitṛ-gaṇān parokṣeṇāsṛjat prabhuḥ
Knowing himself to be filled with desire and vigor, the venerable Aja Brahmā, from his unseen (parokṣa) form, brought forth the hosts of the Sādhyas and the Pitṛs.
The Sādhyas and Pitās are invisible forms of departed souls, and they are also created by Brahmā.
In this verse, the Sādhyas are described as a distinct celestial class (gaṇa) produced during Brahmā’s secondary creation, counted among the organized orders of higher beings in the universe.
This verse states that Brahmā created the Pitṛ-gaṇas—groups of forefathers—establishing the cosmic system in which ancestral lines and duties connected with honoring forebears can function.
The verse highlights that many realities operate beyond direct perception; similarly, a practitioner can cultivate faith in śāstra and disciplined dharma even when results are not immediately visible.
