तवेमे तनयास्तात जनमेजयपूर्वका: । श्रुतसेनो भीमसेन उग्रसेनश्च वीर्यवान् ॥ ३५ ॥
taveme tanayās tāta janamejaya-pūrvakāḥ śrutaseno bhīmasena ugrasenaś ca vīryavān
O King, your four sons—Janamejaya the eldest, Śrutasena, Bhīmasena, and the mighty Ugrasena—are all very powerful.
This verse lists Janamejaya’s sons as Śrutasena, Bhīmasena, and the valorous Ugrasena.
In Canto 9, Śukadeva outlines dynastic lineages to preserve sacred history and show how dharma and devotion flow through saintly and royal families.
They remind readers that legacy matters—cultivating dharma and bhakti in one’s life benefits future generations and keeps spiritual culture alive.
