FAQs

This verse states that when Aśvatthāmā’s brahmāstra nearly finished the Kurus, Parīkṣit was brought back to life and freed from death specifically by Kṛṣṇa’s divine power (kṛṣṇānubhāva).

Śukadeva highlights Parīkṣit’s extraordinary survival to show that the continuation of the Kuru line and Parīkṣit’s life were preserved by Kṛṣṇa’s direct intervention, establishing Kṛṣṇa as the ultimate protector.

Even when circumstances feel life-threatening or hopeless, remembrance of Kṛṣṇa and reliance on His shelter (bhakti) is presented as the highest protection and source of renewal.
