जैगीषव्योपदेशेन योगतन्त्रं चकार ह । उदक्सेनस्ततस्तस्माद् भल्लाटो बार्हदीषवा: ॥ २६ ॥
jaigīṣavyopadeśena yoga-tantraṁ cakāra ha udaksenas tatas tasmād bhallāṭo bārhadīṣavāḥ
Following the instructions of the great sage Jaigīṣavya, Viṣvaksena composed an extensive treatise on the mystic system of yoga. From Viṣvaksena was born Udaksena, and from Udaksena, Bhallāṭa; all are known as descendants of Bṛhadiṣu.
Jaigīṣavya is presented as an authoritative teacher of yoga; this verse highlights that Udaksena received yoga instruction from him, showing knowledge passed through disciplic teaching.
It states that Udaksena, guided by Jaigīṣavya, composed a structured yoga text (yoga-tantra), indicating that yogic practice was systematized and preserved through learned lineages.
It emphasizes learning spiritual disciplines under authentic guidance and valuing disciplined study—receiving teachings properly before trying to systematize or teach others.
