Bhṛgu Tests the Trimūrti; Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna Visit Mahā-Viṣṇu and Recover the Brāhmaṇa’s Sons

The Bhagavān said, “Please purify Me, My abode, and the realms of the world-rulers devoted to Me with the water that has washed your feet—holy water that sanctifies all places of pilgrimage. Today, my lord, since your foot has struck away all sin from Me, I have become the exclusive shelter of Lakṣmī; she will consent to dwell upon My chest.”
Continuing his comments, Śrīla Prabhupāda says: “The so-called brāhmaṇas of the Kali-yuga are sometimes very proud that a great brāhmaṇa like Bhṛgu Muni could touch the chest of Lord Viṣṇu with his foot. But in fact, when Bhṛgu Muni kicked the chest of Lord Viṣṇu it was the greatest offense, although Lord Viṣṇu, being greatly magnanimous, did not take it very seriously.”
This verse says Kṛṣṇa’s pādodaka purifies not only a person but an entire realm and even the world-guardians; He is described as the one who makes pilgrimage places holy.
Indra, recognizing Kṛṣṇa’s supreme position and his own fault born of pride, seeks purification and restoration of devotional consciousness for himself and the other loka-pālas who are devoted to Kṛṣṇa.
Cultivate humility and seek purification through devotion—honoring sacred remnants like caraṇāmṛta and remembering that true sanctity comes from sincere connection to Bhagavān, not from status or power.
