Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: His heart softened by feelings of intimate sympathy, Vasudeva wept. His eyes brimmed with tears as he remembered the friendship Nanda had shown him.
This verse shows Vasudeva’s heart melting in affectionate gratitude; remembering the kindness shown to him, he weeps—teaching that genuine relationships in bhakti are marked by deep appreciation and tender-heartedness.
His heart became softened by renewed intimacy and he remembered the friendship and goodwill others had shown him; overwhelmed by that remembrance, his eyes filled with tears.
Cultivate a soft heart: remember and honor the support you have received, express gratitude openly, and let affectionate relationships strengthen your spiritual life rather than harden into pride or forgetfulness.
