The Freed Kings Glorify Kṛṣṇa; Instruction on Kingship, Detachment, and Remembrance
गत्वा ते खाण्डवप्रस्थं शङ्खान् दध्मुर्जितारय: । हर्षयन्त: स्वसुहृदो दुर्हृदां चासुखावहा: ॥ ३२ ॥
gatvā te khāṇḍava-prasthaṁ śaṅkhān dadhmur jitārayaḥ harṣayantaḥ sva-suhṛdo durhṛdāṁ cāsukhāvahāḥ
Reaching Khāṇḍavaprastha, the heroes who had conquered their foes blew their conchshells, gladdening well-wishing friends and bringing sorrow to enemies.
This verse describes the victorious heroes blowing conchshells at Khāṇḍavaprastha—an auspicious proclamation that encourages devotees and demoralizes the hostile, signaling dharmic triumph.
Because the conchshell sound announces the success of the righteous side—bringing hope and celebration to friends, while warning and discomfort to those opposed to dharma and to Kṛṣṇa’s allies.
Align with dharma and sincere devotion: actions grounded in integrity naturally strengthen supportive relationships and reduce the influence of negativity and ill-will.
