जरासन्धं घातयित्वा भीमसेनेन केशव: । पार्थाभ्यां संयुत: प्रायात् सहदेवेन पूजित: ॥ ३१ ॥
jarāsandhaṁ ghātayitvā bhīmasenena keśavaḥ pārthābhyāṁ saṁyutaḥ prāyāt sahadevena pūjitaḥ
Having arranged for Bhīmasena to slay Jarāsandha, Lord Keśava accepted Sahadeva’s worship and then departed with the two sons of Pṛthā.
This verse states that Jarāsandha was slain by Bhīmasena, and that Lord Kṛṣṇa (Keśava) then departed with the Pāṇḍava brothers, having been honored by Sahadeva.
In this episode Kṛṣṇa acts as the divine strategist, enabling Bhīma to fulfill his kṣatriya duty and destiny while Kṛṣṇa orchestrates the removal of a major threat to dharma.
Sahadeva’s honoring of Kṛṣṇa highlights gratitude and reverence toward the Divine and His devotees—cultivating humility, devotion, and recognition that success ultimately comes by higher guidance.
