Thus addressed, the messenger departed and accurately conveyed the Lord’s message to the kings. They too, longing for liberation, waited with eager hope for their audience with Śaurī, Lord Kṛṣṇa.
The great Vaiṣṇava scholar Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī comments here that by force of circumstances the kings began focusing their attention on Lord Kṛṣṇa alone.
This verse shows that even kings who sought liberation yearned for Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s darśana, implying that direct connection with the Lord is central to true spiritual fulfillment.
After receiving the message delivered by the messenger, they anticipated meeting Kṛṣṇa—whose presence grants purification and liberation—so they awaited His audience with deep spiritual intent.
