The Appearance of Lord Viṣṇu (Kṛṣṇa) and the Divine Exchange with Yoga-māyā

Because of Indra’s ceaseless rain, the Yamunā swelled with deep water, foaming with fierce waves and churning with hundreds of dreadful whirlpools. Yet, just as the ocean once yielded to Śrī Rāmacandra, the Yamunā yielded to Vasudeva and allowed him to cross.
Because the Supreme Lord (Śriyaḥ-pati) was being carried across; by divine will the Yamunā, though dangerous with floods and whirlpools, granted safe passage.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī speaks this verse to Mahārāja Parīkṣit while narrating the events surrounding Lord Kṛṣṇa’s birth and protection.
When one carries the Lord in the heart through sincere devotion, obstacles can be overcome by grace; faith and steady duty (like Vasudeva’s) invite divine assistance even amid danger.
